The image in the post-millennial age addresses the questions that images currently pose us: What are images trying to tell us? What is the meaning of their voracity? What paradoxes and tensions arise from them?

These are compelling questions, at a time when the power of images is threatened by the banality and the incompleteness of representation as a critical exercise, while at the same time providing agency to people in different social and political contexts.
