Galicia represents Spain with exhibition at Galeria Municipal de Matosinhos

"Galicia. Processes and Forms", the guest country programme for the Porto Design Biennale 2023, will showcase the work of over a hundred Galician professionals and companies in an exhibition that opens on 19 October at the Galeria Municipal de Matosinhos, where it will remain until 3 December.
At a press conference held on Tuesday, October 10, in Santiago de Compostela, David Barro, curator of the Galicia programme for the Porto Design Biennale, introduced a curatorial programme that combines history, knowledge and creative practices in the field of Galician design, anticipating an exhibition that focuses on the relationship with the territory and industry.

In addition to the commissioner of the guest country, David Barro, the event to present the Galician programme also included the participation of the president of Turismo Porto e Norte de Portugal, Luis Pedro Martins; the director of the Galician Innovation Agency, Patricia Argerey, the mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira; the vice mayor of Matosinhos, Fernando Rocha and the director of the Porto Design Biennale, Magda Seifert. Also present were the president of the Consello da Cultura Galega, Rosario Álvarez; the director of the Fundación Pública Artesanía de Galicia, Elena Fabeiro; the president of the Asociación Gallega de Diseño (DAG), Xosé García.

The guest country programme for the third edition of the Porto Design Biennale has the support of the Xunta de Galicia through the Axencia Galega de Innovación, the Fundación Artesanía de Galicia and the Fundación DIDAC.
