Base Milano hosts the presentation of the Porto Design Biennale during Design Week

The fourth edition of the Porto Design Biennale, titled "Time is Present. Designing the Common," will be presented today (8th April) at 6 p.m. at Base Milano, Italy.

During Milan Design Week 2025, part of the curatorial team for the fourth edition of the Porto Design Biennale will be participating in the project We Will Design, an experimental laboratory that promotes projects by emerging designers, schools, universities, international institutions, and students from all over the world.

Based on the theme "Making Kin", the Italian cultural centre Base Milano - which is hosting a year of meetings, experiences and moments of new collaborations - invites you to take part in a conversation dedicated to the event organised by esad—idea, in partnership with the Porto and Matosinhos City Councils.

The talk will be moderated by Linda Di Pietro, artistic director of Base Milano: Angela Rui, general curator, Matilde Losi, assistant curator, Andreia Faria, editorial curator and the director-executive, Magda Seifert.

Including performances, experimental workshops, and talks on new life practices and installations, the projects highlighted by Base Milano,  from April 7 to 13, rethink interpersonal relationships beyond traditional ties, proposing new forms based on conscious choices and shared affinities.

This is also reflected in the experimental workshops and talks on new living practices and the vast exhibition, which covers some 4,000 square meters, and brings together proposals from academies, universities, design studios, and emerging designers.

The international exhibition will also host five residencies by international designers during Design Week at casaBASE, the hostel.
